Watch: Saim Ayub smashed a no-look six en route to his hundred during the 2023 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final between Karachi Whites and Faisalabad Region.

Ayub, representing Karachi, has been in stunning form in this year’s Pakistan’s first-class competition, with two hundreds and a double ton in four games. He came to the party in the final, making his highest first-class score of 203 in the first innings, and then also reached three figures in the second innings, with a knock of 109 off 179 balls with one six and 12 fours. He became the first player in the history of the competition to score a double ton and a century in the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

One shot in particular stood out. Batting on 17, the batter left spectators in awe, as he took on the ball going down the leg side and flicked it over fine leg for a no-look shot. “He’s ready for international cricket,” exclaimed the commentators as they described the hit.

No-look sixes aren’t new for Ayub, who had also hit a similar shot in this year’s PSL, scoop-flicking the ball for a maximum.

Ayub has played 14 first-class games, making 1,069 runs at an average of 46.47 with three hundreds and has already been termed as the next batting sensation from the country.
